    Pygmy Puffs

    As promised, more magical creatures.

    Aren't they cute? <bg>

BTW, the second one is light pink, it just looks very pale in the photo.

Look who just turned up in my appartment!

I wanted to call him/her (?) Jack but then remembred that I already named the Skele Gro bottle Jack. So far he...or she does not have a name.

For those who did not notice, it is a bowtruckle. <s> As you might be able to tell from the picture it was made with twigs, branches and bark and has joints so it can move its arms, legs, feet and hands. Oh yes, the hands and feet are partly FIMO.

    First task outfit - updated
Okay, I had posted the champions robe earlier. I just added the name on the back.
New is the jumper, also with mesh fabric, which is a PITA to sew...

    Some stuff

Before spiderwebs start to cover my LJ I better post some of the stuff I have been doing lately...

First, a t-shirt Charlie Weasley might wear. It is made with a kind of silk screen printing process and also tea stained to get a bit of a parchment look.

More props... . First, the Half-Blood Prince's edition of Advanced Potion-Making as it is pictured on the cover of the British adult hardcover version. It is made from an old book to give it the old and used look. The inside was switched to a notebook though.

And last but not least, the Weasley clock...

Oh I look soooo modest!!! ;-D

Champions outfit - First task - part I

Yay! I have completed the robe Harry wears for the first task.It doesn't show well in the pictures but it's about 20 cm longer in the back.

Lining is athletic mesh fabric. I only could get red fabric, so I made the Gryffindor version. The outer frabric is raincoat nylon. Oh yeah, I still have add the name and number....

So next will be the hoody Harry wears under the robe. I'm not sure if I will do the pants...

    Spill the Beans ;-)

The prop department was busy again! The result: Bertie Botts Beans boxes. I made both, the standard and the special xmas edition. Sorry that the pictures are not the best quality, I'll try to make better ones tomorrow with daylight.

    Update:
Here are some better pictures of the box details.

    More book covers

So, here we go again with more book cover. I made those two as slip on cover for HP book I & II (US paperback edition) - no book in there yet though. :-)

The reptile looking part is relief paper (travels with Trolls) and vinyl reptile leather (Guide to Household Pests).I prefer the vinly leather since the relief paper needed some extra treat until it stayed in place. The "Flourish&Blotts" things is actually a sticker on the original movie props, so I made it extra too and didn't just include it in the cover graphic. The Lockhart pictures are't top quality since they come from screenshots. Maybe I can find better ones sometime. Then again...they do look a bit as if Lockhart was moving.

Well, I decided to make bookcovers for all my HP books, since I have so many different editions. This one here is OOTP (hence it is grade 5). It is a slip on cover.

I think the cover for PS will be "Magical Me" and for GOF "Magical Theory". Oh yes and "Unfogging the Future" for HBP. :-)

    A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration
Here is my latest work, a black leather notebook looking like the transfiguration guide in the movies. Okay, I know the original one is brown leather with gold lettering but since I had only black leather I thought it might look cool in black and silver too. Brown leather will arrive next week though.
As said, this version contains a notebook and is a smal version, slightly larger than a hand. The next one (in brown leather) will be larger and I will make it as a slip on book cover.

    Another paper prop
Now featuring: Harry's photo album (sans photos)

My latest (finnished) project is a photo album as Hagrid gives Harry at the end of movie I. Front and back cover are black/red/brown in an antiqued wood look (I used cardboard and different types of resin). The pages design was taken from the movie. The actual photo pages are separated by spider web paper. This is a small version of the photo album, about the size of a normal book. Larger scale can be made accordingly.

    Something new
Winter season starts and I have completed my first knitted items for this season: a Weasley twin hat (it's slightly off white) and a POA Ravenclaw scarf with matching hat. The stripes on the scarf and hat look a bit pinkish but they are light grey.
The Weasley twin hat...(as accurate as possible)

    Tie tacks

After some burns on my fingertips I proudly present my latest creation: tie tacks.

There are all four house mascots made from casted metal and silver plated. Size is ~ 2cm (slightly less than one inch). As you can see in the second picture, I make little cloth bags for storage. :-)

    Another hoodie

Here is another house jacket. I hope the embroidered raven on the back is visible
    enough.

If anyone is interested I would sell this kind of hoodie for $45 + shipping.
Gryffindor and Ravenclaw colours are always available. I found nice dark green
sweatshirt fabric in a local shop so I could also make a Slytherin hoodie. The
problem is that I do not have access to this shop after monday. Still looking
for a reliable source for Huffy and Slyth coloured fabric. :-)

The team sweater with the stripes is available in Ravenclaw and Slytherin colours for $55 + shipping.

    Finally! Team jackets

Okay, here I go again. My latest finnished project: a Ravenclaw team jacket! I admit I mixed up left and right arm (the number with the star is supposed to be on the left side but I am sure nobody will die because of that. ;-)

The fabric is really nice, almost like fleece on the inside and I simply love the blue. It's a nice lucid blue like the Quidditch robes in POA. The stripes etc. are a very light silverish grey, they just look almost white on the photos.

I might offer to make the jackets for sale but they would not be exactly cheap, as the materials cost a bit and it is a lot of work to sew on all those stripes.

    Gryffindor for a change

Okay, more Quidditch. Gryffindor this time as I had this nice red raincoat fabric. I made a rayon lining so one does not get cooked while wearing the robe.

BTW, I ordered blue sweatshirt fabric so I will have a Ravenclaw team jacket soon! :-)

    Dumbledore wand

Here is my selfmade Dumbledore wand. I modelled the handle and the bobbles with black Fimo, except the one white piece at the handle. Then I painted the whole thing with different shades of brown and the white Fimo with ivory coloured paint. The black signs are engraved and also painted black.

    More Quidditch (Wasps robe continued)
How embarassing! I am wearing red socks!
Yeah, I know, I still need a broom. It is about nr. 20 on my to-do-list. But I definately want to make my PS/COS style robe jacket first.

    More Quidditch
I thought this looks rather funny. It is the big cloth ball you get while turning the finnished robe from left to right.
And here is the robe. Or at least the back. I still need
to iron it and take pictures of someone actually wearing it. More details
    will follow.

    My HP3 bookcover
For those who are curious about the book in my Ravenclaw bag: here is a photo of a part of the front cover. I tried to take more pictures but this was the only one that turned out okay. :-( Will try again tomorrow...

The book is HP3 and I made the cover ages ago so it does not look that good any more. I read that book so often that it really needed a cover. ;-)
The crest and columns are made with Fimo, painted black with some golden shimmer. The 'background' is some fancy paper with a nice texture. Spine and sides are covered with leather.
